Hello, I am Gwyneth Hoffman, I am a senior at Wakefield School in The Plains, Virginia. Previously during my junior year I become increasingly interested in the vegan diet. I watched various documentaries and presentations on the topic of the vegan diet and it inspired me to try it out. I was vegan for around 6 months, but I realized through that time that I was not very educated on the various important reasons on one might go vegan. Such as for health reasons, animal rights, and environmental issues. Over the  summer coming into senior year I realized I wanted to dive deeper into the topic for my thesis. I became shocked when researching all the problems with the animal industry. So much is hidden from the public about the process in which their food is produced, and I feel as if it is importune to shed some light on the many problems. As there are many layers to my topic I felt as if having a project based thesis best aligned with my needs in displaying my research. In my thesis process I was able to learn, in great depth, about a topic I am greatly interested in.
